BUFFALO COUNTY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
It will be another busy year of road construction in Buffalo County, with 2 additional bridge replacements, and approximately 9 miles of road construction, 4 State Highway bridge replacements, and 1 State Highway pavement project.
STATE Highway 35 Bridges (3): - In process - Located between Fountain City and the Winona, MN junction. One lane of traffic at each location with light controls for traffic.
These projects started in early March and are planned to be completed in August of 2023.
- The first half the bridges are completed, and the traffic has been moved to the new side, with demo started on the other side.
STATE Highway 37 Bridge: - Located Approx. 1 mile north of State Highway 35, near Secrist Lane. One lane bypass to be installed with light controls for traffic.
This project is planned to begin in July with completion of October.
STATE Highway 95 Pavement: - Located .2 miles east of Jefferson St., approx. 8.2 miles to County Highway G. Will remain open with human flagging operations.
- Culvert replacement and drainage work began May 8th.
- Milling and Paving operation to begin soon.
- Installation of the new guardrail will also be completed.
US Highway 10 East of Mondovi: - From STH 37 (north) to Trempealeau County line.
- Chip Sealing project in Early August.
COUNTY Highway C: - In process - Approx. 1.94 miles, from County Road U to County Road CC. Will remain open with some delays for culvert work.
- Complete reconstruction, including new culverts (may cause short delays), pulverizing old pavement, adding additional new base rock, and new asphalt pavement.
COUNTY Highway H (North): - Approx. 1.88 miles, from Mill St. to the Pepin County line (the County to reconstruct 1.38 miles from City limits to the County line).
- Complete reconstruction, including new culverts (may cause short delays), pulverizing old pavement, adding additional new base rock, and new asphalt pavement.
COUNTY Highway F: Approx. 5.2 miles, from State Highway 37 to approx. .5 miles north of County Road KK.
- Complete reconstruction, including new culverts (may cause short delays), pulverizing old pavement, adding additional new base rock, and new asphalt pavement.
COUNTY Bridge - Highway AA: 275’ of Johnson Hill Rd. Full road closure. To be scheduled to off-peak traffic flows (harvest).
- Full bridge replacement.
- Will be a timber structure so the length of closure will be approx. 2 weeks.
COUNTY Bridge - Highway E: 160’ of Hohmann Rd. Full road closure. To be scheduled to off-peak traffic flows (harvest).
- Full bridge replacement.

COUNTYWIDE Chip Sealing: Will affect various County Highways and Town Roads. To be scheduled, typical schedule is late August to Early September.
