Buffalo County Road Construction

BUFFALO COUNTY CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

It will be a very busy year of road construction in Buffalo County, with a total of 9 bridges being replaced, approximately 6 miles of road construction, and 5 State Highway projects.

 

STATE Highway 35/54:   The highway has been opened with reduced speed (45 mph) for the removal of the bypass.   CR-P has been restored to open traffic.

STATE Highway 37 North of Mondovi:   Remains open with human flagging operations.

  • Paving operations in process.
  • Installation of new guardrail to be completed.

STATE Highway 37 South of State Highway 88:   Remains open with human flagging operation.

  • Paving operations in process.
  • Installation of new guardrail to be completed.

STATE Highway 88 from State Rd 35 to CR-E:  Chip Sealing COMPLETE!

US Highway 10 West of Mondovi:  Project is in process – still using the bypass as the crew does the finishing touches.  Will be open soon!

  • Full bridge replacement with bypass – reduced speed for entering the bypass.

 

COUNTY Highway O:   Project in process – paving the week of Sept 12th.  No thru traffic (preferred) Monday thru Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

  • Approx. 2.4 miles, from County Highway OO intersection in Cochrane to Belvidere Ridge Road at the top of the hill.
  • Guardrail replacement will likely be in the spring of 2023.

NOTE:  This project includes new pavement through the railroad crossing on the west side of State Highway 35.  This may cause a short closure.  This will begin the week of Sept. 19.  This road will be closed during construction.

COUNTY Highway OO:   Project is complete and open to traffic.

COUNTY Highway H South:  To start after completion of CTH O, tentatively week of Sept. 26th.

 - from State Highway 37 intersection to County Highway HH intersection.

  • Complete reconstruction, including new culverts (may cause short delays), pulverizing old pavement, adding additional new base rock, and new asphalt pavement from curb to curb.

 

COUNTY Highway H North:  Delayed to 2023 due to Mondovi City project, and material costs on other projects.

  • Complete reconstruction, including new culverts (may cause short delays), pulverizing old pavement, adding additional new base rock, and new asphalt pavement.

COUNTY Highway E:  Project is complete and open to traffic.

COUNTY Highway G:  Project is complete and open to traffic.

COUNTY Highway D:  Project in process – bypass in place.

  • Full bridge replacement with bypass – reduced speed for entering the bypass.

COUNTY Highway J:  Scheduled start of Oct. 3rd – 900ft east of County Highway JJ intersection – Scheduled for late September.

  • Full bridge replacement.
  • Road will be closed between CR-JJ and Tiffany Valley Road.

COUNTY Highway HH:  Scheduled start of Sept. 19th. – .56 miles east of Allman Road - Full bridge replacement.

  • Road will be closed between Allemann Road and Wulff Rd/CR-BB.

 

TOWN of Glencoe, Pronschinske Drive:  Project started August 15th.

  • Full bridge replacement with bypass.

TOWN of Modena, Hanson Bluff Road:  Scheduled for start on Oct. 3rd but requested a 2 week delay to the 17th to harvest crops.

  • Full bridge replacement.

TOWN of Montana, Palkowski Road:  Project started Sept. 7th, must be out of the water by Sept. 15th.

  • Full bridge replacing culverts currently in place.

 

CHIP-SEALING:   COMPLETE!
